Self Taught After Effects (Inspired by Workshop 2 by Sara)

For the latest brief "Identify", I set myself a challenge of using my After Effects knowledge from the workshops and trying to put this into identifying the Graffiti of Manchester. I wanted to work with what I learnt from the first workshops by having frequently fast images repeating one after another. I found this easy as I have done this several times however I wanted to have some sort of challenge. I decided to extend my knowledge from the last workshop of using the rotation and position tools. I set myself the challenge of having the Bees that I Illustrated to come off the screen and reveal "BEE IT MCR". I used the position tool by having the bee leave the workspace but I also used the rotation tool on some of the bees so as the bee left it would rotate itself similar to what bee animations appear like now. Below shows my animation inspired by my workshops:

Typography Workshop with John (Workshop 3)

In my workshop with John it was all about refining. However I had to make the big decision as to which typography I would continue to pursue. In my previous workshops, I designed the following: Here I have a range of three different typography designs. The first one is more geometrical and fluid at the same time yet follows the structure of my inspiration throughout. The second one also links back to the inspiration however I am unsure on some of the letters for example the C. Finally the last one hasn't followed any inspiration and instead was my own type that I wanted to try. I do like it however their was no process or stages for this one. I decided to refine the first one as I have seen it develop thoughout. I developed this on graph paper, below shows the outcome:  I choose to have some letters slightly thicker than others for example the M & N is thicker than U and V as I know this is a more used letter and I wanted it to be more dominant. I like ...

Self Taught After Effects - Christmas Animation (Inspired by Workshop 2 & 3 with Sara)

After my third workshop with Sara and learning how to work with the rotating and position technique, I decided to have a go myself. In my last workshop I created a clock where the handles moved and several smaller clocks appeared however I wanted to try and create a cartoon that would move as I felt this would be more of a challenge. I also wanted to see if the same techniques applied when working with characters. Below shows my animation: CHRISTMAS ANIMATION from Amy Winson on Vimeo . MY BRIEF: - To illustrate my own background with snow falling - To do it for a company (In this case I choose the company I work for and decided that their products would fall from a sleigh passing over the background) - To have some sort of figure to the front of the image I have set myself a really complex and challenging brief to push myself to my limits. ILLUSTRATIONS I started off by illustrating a background with snow falling. Originally when I did this, I hadn't realised the...
